Blyth International Summers, an exciting and academically rigorous educational travel program for high school students, was created in 1977 by founder Sam Blyth. Over its 37-year history, Blyth International Summers has had the privilege of introducing thousands of students to the joy and wonder of studying abroad and is Canada’s leading provider of international education. We continue this tradition today, sending over a thousand students each year to more than 22 programs across 30 countries.

Our students have many different reasons for enrolling in our International Summer programs, including a thirst for adventure. Many also have the desire to spark positive change, and the desire for self-discovery and leadership development that may come from participating in a project abroad.

To further engage our students in the world around them, Blyth Community Service was created. This important program takes high school students and accompanies them to locations such as Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Peru, to conduct community service work in collaboration with locally-based NGOs focused on the areas of education and the environment. We ask our partners how and where we can be useful in an attempt to ensure that the work that we carry out is relevant and meaningful to the communities in which we are based.

The creation of Blyth Academy, a full-time private school that also offers part-time and private course offerings as well as elite sports academies, was a natural evolution of the demand for the same level of highly personalized education delivered through extremely small class sizes by empathetic and nurturing faculty. Today, Blyth Academy has nine schools, with three in the Toronto area (Yorkville, Lawrence Park, Thornhill), and Whitby, Barrie, Mississauga, Burlington, London, and Ottawa and is the leading private school by enrollment in Canada.

Our latest evolution is Blyth Academy Online, Canada’s most academically rigorous and engaging online high school. By partnering Blyth Academy’s brick-and-mortar campuses and 37-year history of academic excellence with cutting edge online learning platforms and exciting course development, we challenge the current definition of online learning in Ontario.

With over 30 courses to choose from, Blyth Academy Online allows Grade 9–12 students the opportunity to take an extra credit, lean forward for the year to come, or lighten the course load of their next year. All students have access not only to the very best faculty and courses, but also to the guidance counsellors and facilities of any of our nine Blyth Academy schools across Ontario, providing the very highest level of support and success.

With Blyth Academy Global High School, Grade 11, 12 and gap year students can study while traveling by taking one, two, three or the entire four terms abroad!

Blyth Academy Global High School has created a four-term program that is designed to give students the very best experiential education available, in an affordable, safe, and comfortable setting.

From Oxford University in England, to France and Spain, the beauty of Greece and Italy, the energy of Australia and New Zealand, to the lush landscapes of Peru, Costa Rica and Nicaragua, simply select your term or terms and let Blyth’s experience in delivering exceptional accredited educational travel take your learning to the next level.
